Battery Care
Here are some brief tips on how to maximize your battery life. For instructions on battery conditioning, click here.
-Leaving your battery in hot locations, such as your car, or outside in direct sunlight, can damage your battery and decrease it life’s span.
-Extended exposure to heat from a laptop itself can also hurt your battery’s life span. If your laptop heats up quite a bit, it’s suggested that you simply run your pc on external power when you can. This may decrease your system’s performance speed, so there is a trade off involved. Longer battery life span or faster system performance. Try to find a balance between the two.
-You can set your computer setting so as to maximize your battery’s run time. Turning off external communication, like the airport, modem, and bluetooth, along with turning down the screen brightness, avoiding DVD drive use, and removing media cards or usb devices not in use, will extend how long your battery lasts on a single charge.
-Make sure you store your battery in a cool place with some power left in it. If you have two batteries, make sure to swap them out once and a while. Letting the extra battery be unused for long periods of time will make it grow stale, and decrease its ability to hold a charge over time.
